Learn from the TOP 1% Popping and Hip Hop Dance instructor in Canada!
Have you ever seen robot dancers in the streets? You know, the ones who are painted in all silver and they only move when you put a $1 dollar bill in their box!
How about those famous dancers online?
The ones with amazing dancers from shows like Step Up, World of Dance and So You Think You Can Dance?
Here is your chance to learn the basic robot and popping foundations without even going to a studio!
- Maybe you don’t have experience
- Or you feel embarrassed to attend a class.
- Perhaps there are no qualified teachers in your area.
- You might not be sure if you’re ready to commit to weekly sessions!
I am going to teach you how to do the basic robot and 10 beginner Popping techniques by breaking it down in simple steps that anybody can follow.
You can go at your own pace and there is no pressure to keep up with others. It’s no problem if you trip on two left feet and look totally awkward like a middle-aged dad in a clown suit at first.
You might not become a professional overnight, but you’re definitely going to learn some party tricks, get some confidence and gain the foundations to grow from.
You might have seen dancers like Jaja Vankova, Jabbawockeez, Poppin John and more…. They all started where you are at – day 1! We all started from the ground up, and you can do it too!
This course is for people who have zero popping dance experience. You don’t need to have any background in dance. If you have some experience already, I will recommend my intermediate or advanced courses.
If you would like more information, here’s a course outline below:
Things you’ll learn:
- Staying on the beat of the music

Don’t worry if these sound hard. I’m going to teach you every step of the way and you don’t even have to get out of your pajamas. But please, at least wash them.
The goals of this course: You will understand the basic robot and be able to comfortably dance popping at a beginner level.
Imagine when you can show your mom or dad, husband or wife, friends or children the cool new dance moves you’ve learned!
You will get access to my Popping music playlist so that you can practice at home with the best music for this dance style.
If you want to learn how to dance at a party or social gathering, or just gain a fun hobby where you can express yourself creatively, this class is just what you need! At the very least, you’re going to get some sweet party tricks!
This will boost your confidence. What do you have to lose anyway?
These moves are going to stick with you forever, they are really for any age. You don’t have to be a young athletic 20 year old to be able to do the robot. When you’re older, your grandkids will think you’re awesome.

Check out attached 30-day training calendar. We recommend to print it out and keep it somewhere that you'll see daily.
Get Down The Basics
Foundations are necessary to look legit in the style and dance at a high level. Make sure to spend a good amount of time on these lessons and put in lots of independent practice time.
Always do a warm up at the beginning of your training. Warm ups help prevent injuries so you can dance for many years!
Some other Popping DJ's and musicians we recommend are:
Shash'u
Jaygee
Bironexx
Mxwll
Zapp n Roger
DJ Mofak
Fingazz
Hands down, hits are the most important thing to learn in Popping. Get this down before moving on.
Drill, drill, drill. Put the time in and you'll get results.
Don't worry if there's no effect in certain muscles immediately, it takes time to build up. Push ups can help.
A very basic, classic and foundational Popping move.
Before Popping was even called Popping, it started with posing with clean angles. So this is a very foundational concept.
This is a precursor to freestyling, helps with foundational angles and is a good guide of vocabulary to help you start moving.
Helps you start thinking outside of the box and build a larger group of variations.
We see these done wrong all the time. Make sure to follow this lecture deeply and spend a lot of independent practice to get it down.
Keep going! Your waves are improving!
Don't worry if this is challenging. This is just to help you practice using the moves in different combinations. Take your time, and make sure you've had a good amount of training in the previous lectures first.

Getting Comfortable With The Movement
Can you spot the different moves? Come back and watch this after you finish section 3.
Watch, rewind, rewatch etc. You can use this review as many times as needed.
Even if we are doing the robot with stiff and rigid movements, it's always important to know how to groove if you want to be a dancer.
Don't overcomplicate things. Keep it simple and take it slow. If you can't do it slow, you can't do it fast.
Simple can be super effective. Stay to the beat of the music and make sure your movements feel good and make sense to how a robot would move.
Think of a rubix cube. The purpose of this move is to learn how to isolate your body and separate the motions.
It's easy to get stuck in a standstill with animation (popping). Make sure to know how to move around on your feet to stay dynamic.
More moves to help you use space.
Keep it up and start some out of box thinking with your footwork.
Keep it up guys! Follow our 30 day training calendar and you'll see results!
Connecting The Movements
Wow, you're still training hard! Keep it up, you're doing great!

These are great connectivity movements. They help you seam together other moves that you learn. Also really important to know from a foundational standpoint.
You can't really do this accurately until you know how to isolate your chest and hips, so make sure to go back and study the previous lesson until you have it down.
A great concept / move to get into a cypher and move around in your space.

Get Confidence and Have Certainty
Congrats, you're basically half way! Ideally you should have been training every day for two weeks. This is the last set of moves before we start piecing things together and introducing concepts. Stay focused and really get these moves down.
Can you spot the different moves? Come back and watch this after you finish section 5.
This is going to bring your hits to another level. It really doesn't happen overnight, so keep training this for as long as you're popping.
This is borderline intermediate and getting into higher level concepts. The level of body control required for dime stops is high, so if you plan to take the intermediate course, it's important to start training this now.
It's a bit of a tricky move if you're not used to footwork. It gets your brain used to doing more complicated small steps, but still in a beginner way.
A fun old school move that's pretty easy to learn.
Just what we said in the last lecture =)

Flipping Moves + Variations Pt. 1
Okay now we're getting into conceptual movements. This is the beginning process of freestyling.
Can you see Ultraman flipping moves from the first few lessons? Notice how he does the classic moves slightly different from how they were first taught to you.
Get weird, don't worry about looking the same as anybody. As long as you keep the foundations and demonstrate that you know the techniques.
Taking what you already know and doing it differently.
Always think and move outside of the box. It's okay to be different.
Don't worry if this is challenging. This is just to help you practice using the moves in different combinations. Take your time, and make sure you've had a good amount of training in the previous lectures first.

Flipping Moves and Variations Pt. 2
By this point, you not only have a good vocabulary of movement, but you should have a good understanding on how to 'flip' moves. This course will continue to help you gain a better understanding on how to freestyle in your own way.

Dance is a great way to gain confidence because it allows you to express yourself in a guided way that's not verbal. This in turn helps you learn and understand how to read and convey different levels of body language.
Just play around with the moves you already know. Have fun and don't be hard on yourself.
As long as you are staying with the foundations, you can start to get more abstract and playful.
Don't think too much at this point and just let your creativity flow.
If you are loving this so far, use what you already know and just dance. When you join our intermediate course, you will expand on this concept of flipping moves by learning textures, concepts and creativity.

Doing It On Your Own
Putting everything you've been practicing to the test. Let's go!!!
What do you think about the freestyle? What are your thoughts on his musicality, variations and how he tied the moves together? Let's do some critical thinking!
Hits are something that need continual practice. Make sure to stay on beat! In the intermediate course, you will learn about how to 'stay in the pocket' - something we'll explain to you when you sign up.
If you have been taking this course with a friend, you can play Simon Says together!

This is the heart of street dance. It's where the culture and the dance was born.
How Freestyle Helps With Confidence
Even if you feel nervous, do your moves with certainty.
Freestyle concepts will help you confidently tie your moves together and tell a story with your dance.
Now that you're more established as a beginner popper, we'll give you tips to match your confidence with your dance skill level.
As a dancer, you're often a performer. It's important to convey your dance to the audience in a way that they can see, hear and understand. If you are dancing offbeat, you're not dancing.
A fun exercise to help you think quickly and on your feet. This trains your mind to improvise quickly with your movements.
Remember to keep it simple. Don't try to hit every beat. Being patience is very important in this style.
It might feel weird and awkward at first, but this is going to help you understand how to link your movements, how the body mechanics work and inspire conceptual thinking.
To use a multi-dimensional dancer, you need to use all your body parts. Once you know this, we'll cover textures, levels and speed control in the intermediate course.
Please leave us a review. It would mean the world to us =)
