This lesson covers Slurs, or how we connect notes of a different pitch together.


You will learn about Rests, and how they are used to notate silence. We will cover the corresponding Rest for each note value we've looked at.


After this lesson, you will understand what Triplets are, and how they are notated.

Alternate Note Names

Earlier, when we learned the note names, we used the US naming convention. It is common to hear notes referred to with the British naming convention, which we will discuss here.


Here we will discuss how to repeat a section of music within a score without writing the whole section again.

Here we will cover what DC al Fine means, and how you can use it to repeat a section of music.

DS al Coda

Here, we will discuss DS al Coda, and how it can be used to jump around the score.


Notes are not always played at the same volume, which is covered in this lesson on Dynamics. We will cover the various Dynamic levels that you may find within a score.
