Then I will look to establish the shape of the hair and face simultaneously. Then I'll analyze the flow of the hair overall to give it energy with dynamic lines.

In this drawing demo I will introduce the tools I use and break down the structure of the overlaps in this lock of hair. I will start with laying down a tone to work out of and get a light line block in established.

13Refining the block in, adding value and detailsVideo lesson
I will continue to refine the block in and add middle and dark values.I'll build o the light and shadow and conjure an illusion of depth. I will then add strands of hair, texture, stray hairs and finish it off.
