In this course, Dr. Vanessa Ruiz, Naturopathic doctor and Holistic Nurse, teaches how herbs are used in a health setting. You’ll learn about the increasing demand for alternative/ and complementary medicine to help with common conditions such as back pain, neck pain and anxiety. You’ll learn how to choose quality herbal supplements, their safe uses and how they actually work. In addition, you’ll learn contraindications and when herbs aren’t safe to use when taken together with medications. You’ll dive deep into the herbal monographs of the top 12 most commonly used herbs in the United States: ginger, echinacea, garlic, gingko, saw palmetto and many more! At the end, you’ll be given reputable educational resources to expand your knowledge of herbs.
This course is geared towards health professionals with a basic understanding of physiology, pharmacology and medical terminology.
