Beginner Watercolor Step By Step Art for Beginner Painters

Hohoho! Welcome aboard! I hope you have sketched or traced out both the images. Please make sure the marks are not too dark or they will be seen under the watercolor layer. Now let's lay down the first wash of our double Christmas card project.

In this class we are going to build up the contrast by deepening the shadows. Keep in mind that less is more in the first layer and now we just go in and paint almost the same as in first layer but just deeper darker ones.

Adding the final contrast tones is the most enjoyable part of this journey as it brings the painting to life.

In this class you will learn how to deepen the shadows and bring each bottle to life. You will need to let it dry beofre actually going in with a fresh layer of paints.

The Rujak is a a spicy, tangy fruit salad. I was particularly intrigued by this reference image because of the lilac sheen on the peanut sauce seeping out from under the chunks of fruit.  I hope to teach you the shadows and highlights as well well as how to paint the banana leaf.

I have attempted to teach you how to paint colored glass as well as metal techniques  in this class. Thibeautiful bottle with Filligri metallic work is a perfect example to put that technique to test.
